David K. Loyd

David Kenneth Loyd of Scarsdale NY died peacefully on May 20th, 2026. A devoted husband to Mary who he loved for so many years. And whose family took him in as their own, and who he adored.

Father to his sons Darren and Ian.Proud grandfather to Violet.

Brother to Elliot, an Army veteran. And uncle to Elliott and Lisbeth's sons and grandchildren. Raised by Judith and Hillary with love.

And a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. David was an engineer by trade, and known for his kindness, sense of humor and love for airplanes.

He showed strength when facing loss with of son Darren, and when faced with so many physical challenges in life. He was also known for his willingness to do for others, and towards the end how others did for him out of love.

He was kind. He saved a giant stray German shepherd from a parking lot at his office in the Bronx, who he adopted and named Lucky. Loyal to the end. And so was David's grief when Lucky passed. David had many friends, both near with his neighbors, and far. David is survived by his wife, Mary Picarello Loyd, his brother Elliott, his son Ian, and granddaughter and nephews.
