Deodata "Gina" DiRusso

Gina came from Italy in 1958 to New York, having just been married in Italy, and looking forward to a new life in America with her husband, Tommaso. She worked as a seamstress, an office manager for Tommaso’s electrical business, and a building owner. But most of all, she was a loving mother of two boys, and a grandmother of nine, now grown, children. Her family was really her first love. She was a great cook, and loved her garden. She was full of life, and her personality will be remembered by many.

Gina is survived by Renato (Lori), Anthony (Christina) and her nine grandchildren, Christina, Elena, Laura, Thomas, Daniel, Gina (Joseph), Julia, Christopher and Maria. She is predeceased by her husband, Tommaso.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, located at 95 Palisade St. in Dobbs Ferry, Thursday July 2nd at 9:30am. Family, friends, and others whose lives Gina touched are invited to attend. Entombment will take place at St John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Ave, Middle Village, NY, on July 2, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Gina’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
