

Dorothy LaMotta, 75, of Yonkers, NY, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends. As beautiful as Dorothy was on the outside she was even more beautiful inside. A truly selfless person that would do anything for the ones she loved. Dorothy was a class act and would light up any room with her gorgeous smile and breathtaking beauty. “To know her was to love her” is an understatement and she will truly be missed by all.
Dorothy was married to Thomas Caracciolo on November 22, 2015; they were married 10 years.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Thomas, sons, Christopher and John, daughter-in-laws, Daniela and Sarah, grandchildren, Anthony, Rocco, Joseph, Adriana and Rose, brothers, Robert and Peter DeSalvo, sisters, Nancy Russo and Janice Sedia, sister-in-laws, Rosemary DeSalvo and Jean DeSalvo, brother-in-laws, John Russo and Andrew Sedia along with other family and friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Carmine and Doris DeSalvo and first husband, Gary LaMotta.
Dorothy was born in Bronx, NY on September 7, 1950. She graduated from St. Helena’s High School and continued on to receive a degree from Mercy College.
Dorothy worked as a payroll secretary for NYC Board of Education for more than 20 years. She enjoyed vacationing to warm places with beaches and pools, long walks, bowling, dancing to the oldies and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Father Anthony Andreassi, who performed Dorothy and Tom’s wedding, will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwin L Bennett Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583, US, on March 19, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
