

Dr. Frank Anthony Starvaggi passed away of cardiac complications on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the age of 66 in his home in Eastchester, New York. He was born July 9, 1960 to his beloved parents, Rita and Anthony Starvaggi, in the Bronx, and moved to Yonkers with his family as a young boy. In his youth, he was known for being an industrious student, and went on to receive his M.D. at New York University, his father’s alma mater. He completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in radiology, and his fellowship at Columbia University in neuroradiology. He married Diane Cicatello, M.D. and together they relocated to Florida where he began his career as a neuroradiologist at Radiologic Associates of Tampa. After his son was born, missing family, he transitioned to Radiology Associates of Poughkeepsie, NY where he also served as a Trustee of St. Francis Hospital. His career continued with positions at Crystal Run Radiology and Park Avenue Radiology.
Frank was a dedicated father, always putting the needs of his children first. He frequently talked of the great pride he took in his children’s character and educational achievements, and always showed deep interest in their lives. He enjoyed nothing more than simple family time, whether it be watching his children’s favorite TV shows at home, or playing cards after going to the beach in Seaside Park, New Jersey. In his final moments, he was surrounded by the numerous photos of his children hung on every wall of his home.
Frank was known for his compassionate nature and strong interest in caring for others. This was shown in his work with patients, his relationships with family and friends, and his treatment of anyone he met. He was a generous gift giver and enjoyed laughing and joking with loved ones. Frank was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed working on his motorcycles as well as relaxing rides along the country roads in Dutchess County, NY. He loved fitness, historical and scientific documentaries, and sharing his favorite music with others.
Frank is survived by his beloved children, Marc, Isabella, and Francesca, and their mother, Diane; his mother, Rita; his brothers, Michael and Joseph; and many other beloved family members and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Anthony, whose words of wisdom he frequently returned to and shared with others.
