James was one of a kind, a great example of a servant leader. Kind, humble, he listened, he laughed and he enjoyed life. I will miss him, miss his budget questions and all that he brought to ACC. To his wife and children, the loss is huge but his impact on this word was even bigger. My heart felt sorrow and wishing the light finds you all in this new reality. What a wonderful man and I am better for knowing him. Jeanine

James was a true gentleman, always willing to help, with a rare ability to meet every situation with tact and gentle humour. Our friendly disagreement over whether Phil Collins was the greatest singer of all time still brings a smile, and I will keep that fun memory of you.

He will be dearly missed. My heartfelt condolences go to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest in peace.

I worked closely with James at Capgemini and was fortunate to have him as my manager. He was a remarkable leader and mentor whose guidance and unwavering support shaped the journeys of many.

He inspired us to grow, generously sharing his knowledge and opening the door to the world of data protection. His legacy will continue to guide and influence us.

My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May God be with them, bringing comfort, strength, and peace.

Sending condolences from the legal team in Australia and New Zealand - James made a positive and memorable impact and we all enjoyed having the opportunity to work alongside him over the years. The shockwaves of his passing are felt across the globe - heartfelt sympathies to James' family, friends and US colleagues.

I worked opposite James on a deal with Capgemini. Even though that was almost ten years ago, I remember clearly how wonderful it was to interact with James, his wit, intelligence and professionalism. I remember my client and I ribbed him a bit by pointing out that, since his last name was “Farnsworth” (the same as the author of a renowned treatise on contracts), we were in no position to object to his views. He laughed and said he’d heard that many times in the past. Very gracious and a true gentleman. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed. May his memory be a blessing.

I had the good fortune of working with James on and off over the past decade at Capgemini. James had that rare ability to support others with quiet determination, while making you feel you were never on your own. Working with him felt like a true partnership—together, success always seemed possible.
His sincerity was unmistakable. James was genuine in everything he did, and everyone who knew him felt it. He will be deeply missed, and his kindness, integrity, and the way he made others feel supported will live on in our memories and in our hearts forever.

Sending my deepest sympathy to you Sara, Ella and Emery at this very difficult time. James was a great person and an outstanding lawyer with a very successful career in Capgemini. I have very fond memories of his tremendous professionalism, strong business maturity, team spirit, enthusiasm and deep respect for values. He made a great contribution to the success of our Group and he leaves a lasting legacy. Our thoughts are with you. Maria Pernas

I had the pleasure of getting to know James as part of my very first professional experience as an associate lawyer at Capgemini group legal, and I am very saddened to hear of his sudden passing.

James was a very kind man and an exemplary lawyer that I always looked upon as a young legal professional.

All my thoughts and prayers to the Farnsworth family in this dire times.

I am so saddened to hear that James has passed, and my heart is with you all as you celebrate his memory.
I worked in Group Compliance/Legal at Capgemini in Paris from 2010 to 2022 and had frequent interactions with James over the years. In fact, he came to Paris in the summer of 2017 as a sort of « exchange » when I went to the NY office for a month! I enjoyed collaborating with him.
Sincere condolences,
Catherine Stavrakis

I worked with James for the past 7 years, getting to know him much closely over the last 2 years. I am on leave at the moment and just recieved devastating news of his passing. I didn’t have much of a personal relationship with James but he was always kind to me and never failed to meet me with a smile on his face. I found this page and thought I would share my condolences with his family. I hope god gives you comfort during this difficult time

I had the pleasure of working with James many times over the course of my 10 years at Capgemini. In recent years I worked more closely with him on many escalated deals. His patience, kindness, and calm demeanor always made interacting with him so easy and effortless. He was always willing to help answer my questions no matter how small they seemed. My deepest heartful condolences go out to his wife, children and family. He will be greatly missed.

Farnsworth family,

I can only begin to imagine what you are feeling during this difficult time as you mourn the loss of your husband, father, and brother. I had the privilege of working with James for many years, often on highly confidential and demanding matters. Even in the most stressful situations, he was a bright presence—warm, confident, and enthusiastic—always able to put others at ease.

James will be deeply missed at Capgemini as a trusted colleague, a valued friend, and someone who brought genuine warmth to those around him.

My condolences,
Carrie Curry

I was fortunate to walk alongside James for many years, from my early days at the company in Brazil to this later chapter in the U.S. No matter where we were or how much time had passed, James was always the same: kind, humble, and truly present for others.
He had an extraordinary depth of knowledge, yet he never led with it. Instead, he led with generosity, patience, and a genuine willingness to help. Being around James made people feel supported and respected, and that is the memory I will always hold closest.
James was not only a remarkable professional, but a deeply special human being. His absence leaves a real emptiness for all of us who had the privilege of knowing him, yet his spirit, kindness, and example will live on through the many lives he touched.
To Sara, Emily, Ella, and the entire family, my heart is with you. May God bring you comfort and strength, and may you always know how deeply James was loved and appreciated. And to James, I say thank you for everything. May you rest in peace, my dear friend.

James and I were colleagues in the Capgemini U.S. Legal Department for over 20 years. Many people are casually referred to as Subject Matter Experts in this world, but James truly was. In his role, he was regularly brought into negotiations to explain and work past stumbling blocks relating to seemingly opaque and intricate regulatory requirements. However, his depth of knowledge aside, perhaps James's greatest skill was his ability to instantly cause all parties involved--on both sides of the matter--to have confidence that there was a path forward toward our common goal, even in the presence of difficult issues. As Beatriz said so well in another comment here, he had a way of enveloping everyone in calm air, a rare quality in this profession. My condolences to James's family and friends.

So sad to learn of James' passing. My very best to Sara, Ella and Emery as you grieve for him and as you celebrate his life. James was a stellar colleague with a keen legal mind and a friendly, helpful way that made him and the expertise he brought accessible. We are all so much deeper and richer than simply our work selves, so let me also say thank you for "lending" him to us for the time we had. He will be missed.

Brian Eden ... a colleague of James from Capgemini

I had the opportunity to work with James at Capgemini. His kind and caring demeanor was always present. He will be greatly missed. I am sorry to hear of his loss for the family/friends and community. May you be well during this time of grief and may his memory be a blessing.
With thoughts & prayers...KA (Krystianne Avedian)

I had the privilege of working with James on several occasions over the past few years. He was one of those rare individuals who engage authentically and warmly, no matter the situation. While I didn't work closely with him often, whenever I had the opportunity to do so, I always walked away appreciating his genuine, kind manner and supportive and helpful guidance or input. James was a true gem. My most sincere condolences to his family and dear friends as you grieve this immense loss. May his memory be a blessing.

Send our deepest condolences for your loss. Please let us know if there is way to donate or contribute to a go fund me account. May his memory be a blessings

We are shocked and heartbroken by the sudden passing of our nephew in law, James R. Farnsworth. James was a loving and supportive husband to our niece Sara and warm and attentive father to our grand niece and nephew Ella and Emery. May you all find comfort and strength in each other this Passover and Easter holiday .
We miss and love you all and regret not being with you at this time.
Our warmest regards,
Aunt Patty and UncleMichael Neivert-Schruefer

This week has been truly heartbreaking for all of us at Capgemini.
The more I reflect on James, the more I realize how many quiet but powerful lessons he gave us through the way he lived and worked. He was a true gentleman—steady, thoughtful, and wise. Always calm, always positive, and ready to help. No matter the situation, James brought clarity, perspective, and a sense of calm that made everything feel manageable.
He filled every room with warmth, intelligence, kindness, and inspiration, without ever raising his voice. His integrity and composure made him not only an exceptional colleague, but a role model for any lawyer and for anyone lucky enough to work alongside him.
James was not only respected—he was deeply admired and genuinely loved.
To Sara, Emery, Ella and extended family, please know that his impact reached far beyond his work. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and quiet leadership that will stay with all of us and that I hope I can pass to my own children.
We will miss him greatly and remember him always. Rest in peace my dear James.

Dear Sara, I was deeply saddened to learn of James’ sudden passing. He was not only highly respected professionally, but also genuinely kind and pleasant to work with. All his collègues from the Group Legal team truly valued the months he spent with us in Paris and he will be greatly missed. James was always cheerful and smiling. I remember he was so happy when you joined him in Paris.
When I left Group Legal to join Group Cyber, James sent me a nice message to wish me the best. That was so much like him.
My thoughts are with you and your children during this incredibly difficult time. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
With deepest sympathy, Véronique

I had the privilege of working with James and his guidance and steadiness made a lasting impact on all of us. He was generous with his time, clear in his counsel, and unfailingly supportive.
My deepest condolences to his family and all who loved him. May his memory be a blessing.

I was so deeply saddened to hear of James’s passing. While I didn’t have the privilege of knowing him as long as many others, I truly cherished the time I did spend with him.

Last year, Patrick and I had such a wonderful brunch with James and Sara in New York—one of those afternoons that felt easy and full of life, with great conversation about baseball, music, and food.

What stood out to me most was how warm, engaging, and genuinely joyful James was. He had a way of making you feel immediately comfortable, like you’d known him much longer than you had. It was clear how deeply he loved his family and how much he meant to so many.

I feel very grateful to have known him, even for a short time, and I will hold those memories close.

My heartfelt condolences to Sara, Ella, Emery, and all who loved him.

—Margaret

I am devastated by this loss. James was one of my best friends for almost 40 years, and I watched him grow and become the man he was: husband, father, friend, and oh yeah, lawyer. I attended more Springsteen shows with James than with anyone else, and we shared a love of baseball, politics and good meals. Went to my first Spring training with him. Saw one of the best Springsteen shows ever with him. And enjoyed his sense of humor and jokes (OK, maybe some of the jokes were too corny!). He always had a smile and made me feel better every time we talked, face timed, or just texted and emailed. I miss him so much.
