Although there was a
6 1/2 yr. difference in age, and Lucy was like my second mother, we were on the same page in our later years.
When I was in elementary school, She planned my birthday parties.
When I grew up and went out with friends, Lucy and my brother-in-law, Bill, invariably, waited up for my return . And how could I forget when we were younger and taking piano lessons. She and I were to attend a piano recital. Sworn to secrecy, she took me to the movies
instead and if I am not mistaken, her boyfriend was there, too.. When my husband and I got engaged, there was Lucy and Bill waiting up for us after a celebratory evening, with champagne to congratulate us.
Rest in peace, dear sister. A life well lived.💗Anna

My beautiful mother Lucy is one of the last to carry the old collective way we were raised. It was a time when family was everything, faith was lived every day, neighbors were family, and hard work and loyalty mattered.
Lucy is everything I love about growing up. Our Italian roots, our Catholic faith, our culture, our kitchen, the foods from our area that told our story. She was our historian. She knew where we came from, the names, the villages, the stories of how we came to America. She kept all of that alive for us.
Because she and my father worked so hard to give us the best of America, this next generation lives a very different life than we did. That was their gift to us, and I will always be grateful.
Thank you for your prayers and love for Lucy. God bless her as she takes her small steps to the Kingdom. She is rising to meet the angels.

Something tells me there is a party going on in Heaven. 🙏

My Aunt Lucy was lovely inside and out. Her sage kitchen advice of “ Timing is everything” still holds true. 🙏
