Philip A. Pinto Sr.

Philip A. Pinto Sr. was born on March 15, 1941, to Stella and Antonio Pinto and was raised in Tuckahoe, New York. He married the love of his life, Mildred “Joan” Pinto, on September 24, 1961, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and community while raising their family in Eastchester.

Phil proudly served as a firefighter, Badge #74, with the Eastchester Fire Department for 35 years. Even after his retirement, he remained an active retiree, maintaining the friendships and sense of service that meant so much to him throughout his life.

Phil was predeceased by his parents, Stella and Antonio Pinto; his wife, Mildred “Joan” Pinto; his son, Philip A. Pinto Jr.; and his brother, Donato Pinto Jr. He is survived by his loving children, Diana (Thomas) DiCarlo and Anthony (Carol) Pinto; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Pinto; and his cherished grandchildren, Thomas (Giordana), Lauren (Tim), Gregory (Allie), Philip, AJ, Cassie, and Christian. He also leaves behind his treasured great-grandchildren, Viviane, Thomas, Hallie, and Gianna.

Phil lived his life with dignified strength, humility, and unwavering gratitude. A devoted husband, supportive father, proud grandfather, and adoring great-grandfather, he found his greatest joy in the people he loved. He was the resilient patriarch of the Pinto family and a steady presence—dependable, selfless, and deeply committed to those he loved.

Phil took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating each milestone as though it were his own. Through his example, he instilled in them the values of hard work, integrity, and unwavering loyalty to family. Those lessons, and his legacy, will continue to guide generations to come. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes, 824 Scarsdale Avenue, Scarsdale, NY 10583.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A livestream of the Mass will be available for those unable to attend in person.

Interment will immediately follow at Holy Mount Cemetery, California Road, Eastchester, NY.
