Julius "Sonny" Cheranko

He is survived by his children, Denise (late Mike) Flynn, Mark Cheranko and Debra (Gerald) Brindley; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 on their way.

Sonny was born on April 28, 1930 in East Chicago, IN to the late Julius and Julia Cheranko. He attended Bishop Noll High School and retired from the East Chicago Fire Department. On June 29, 1957, he married the love of his life Lillian Dziepak who preceded him in death. Also preceded in death by sister, Rosemary (late George) Lukish and dear friend, Barbara.

Sonny was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM Directly at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1 W. Wilhelm Street Schererville, IN) with Rev. Martin J. Dobrzynski officiating.

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Crown Point, IN.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.
