

Aldon Lee Pell Sr., 83, accepted the hand of God into peace during his journey home and ended his suffering on April 23, 2017. Mr. Pell was born on April, 11 1934 in Donora, Pennsylvania to Marie Emma Kowalewski Pell and Karl William Pell. He married his wife, Marilyn Georgia Lee Snyder in Cleveland, Ohio on May 29, 1960. He got his Associate’s Degree of Industrial Management and worked at Dow Chemical for 15 years before working at National Can Company for 5 years. He served in the Navy from 1953-1957 as MM2 Engineer at the end of the Korean War and thru the Korean Conflict. Mr. Pell was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Gilbert. He was a lifelong member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) as well as being a member of International Optimist Organization and American Legion.
Mr. Pell was predeceased by his mother, Marie Emma Pell, 1962; father, Karl William Pell, 1958; brother, William Karl Pell, 1963; and sister-in-law, Cathy Pell, 2010. Survived by wife, Marilyn Pell of Gilbert, Arizona; daughters, Georgia Lee Pell and Sheri Lee Cheraso of Mesa, Arizona; sons, Aldon (Andrea) Pell Jr. of Conroe, Texas and Edward (Beth) McIntire of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, John (Angela) Rodkey of Missouri City, Texas; Ryan (Jamie) Rodkey of Sugarland, Texas, Aldon Lee Pell III of Conroe, Texas, Shelby Cheraso of Tempe, Arizona, and Taylor Ann Pell or Conroe, Texas; nieces, Karen Atkinson of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Deborah Barber of Belmont, North Carolina; nephew, David Pell of Hampstead, North Carolina. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren living in Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Gilbert at 331 S. Cooper Road Gilbert, Arizona 85233. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in deceased name to the following: Disabled American Veterans (DAV), American Lung Association, and American Cancer Society. Mr. Pell will be cremated and interred at the National Cemetery Park in Phoenix, Arizona.
