She was born November 29, 1939, in Washington DC, the daughter of the late Dick and Marilyn Craddock.
Liz’s journey began by obtaining a master’s degree and working as a Cytotechnologist, the study of microscopic interpretation of cells to detect cancer and other abnormalities.
As life unfolded, she lovingly raised her family with marked kindness and selfless love before finding joy as a Chef.
Liz Hansing’s skills in ethnic cooking could be lauded in countries around the world. The Hansing’s have many ethnic favorites including Asian, Mexican German, Indian and Italian. Her recipes strived on mastering and teaching international cuisine.
One of her most notable influences was a woman named Emma Chang, an Asian woman who taught her to cook authentic Chinese food.
Our longtime friend, Arcilia Gambino began by teaching Liz Hispanic cuisine, for example, how to make Tamales and how to do it right. The Hansing family would frequent Mexico visiting Arcilia’s family and learning new recipes. Those special memories have shaped who the family is today.
As life continued, she lovingly raised her family with steadfast devotion before finding joy in helping others. She spent many years working with the disabled as well as helping teen pregnancies at Crittenton, Services for Children and Families.
Her vibrant spirit radiated through every moment spent with her cherished family, especially her beloved grandchildren Olivia and Eli, whom she adored beyond words. Liz’s greatest happiness was supporting her children and delighting in their milestones by supporting their artistic endeavors and without judgment, cherishing their individualized souls. Imparting not just values, morals, and lessons, but a profound sense of love and wisdom that will forever shape their lives.
Liz possessed an energized and occasionally feisty demeanor that added a special spark to her vibrant personality and loving nature. Her infectious smile and sense of humor never failed to send a room into laughter. Even until the end, her positive outlook kept her strong and resilient.
Liz found comfort and endless joy in the company of Dr. late Ron Hansing, her devoted husband and shared nearly five decades of unwavering love.
Those fortunate enough to know Liz will forever cherish her compassion, wisdom, humor, kindness and unwavering love. Her legacy of kindness and dedication lives on through her loving children, Jane Lindenmoyer and Scott Campbell; grandchildren, Olivia Foley and Eli Lindenmoyer; and her sister, Trish Barwhada and brother, late Bruce Craddock. The world is dimmer without her light, yet her spirit remains eternally in our hearts.
