Ann Phillips Underwood slipped the surly bonds of Earth to be with her beloved “Kenny”. She was born at Grandview Farm Hopewell, NJ and raised in Ewing, NJ. Ann went on to meet her “Fly-Boy” Kenny Underwood at Potomac State College in Keyser, WV. They then married in 1947 and started their family in Titusville, NJ. First came Robert (Bob), then twins Sue Ann and Lu Ann. The Nursery Lane “Family” was close, but the “wild west” beckoned them. In 1963 the Underwood’s moved to Arizona! Ann went on to have a wonderful career at Motorola’s Government Electronics Division, where she retired from in 1984. A move to Mesa, AZ led her and Ken to become avid motorhomers and travel they did. From Nova Scotia to the Florida Keys and from Alaska to Mexico City and Cabo; garnering many lifelong friends along the open road. Ann went on to learn to play golf at Villa Royale after their travels were done. She regularly attended Apache Wells Community Church and volunteered for “Dresses for Orphans”.
Ann is preceded in death by both parents, Charles and Catharine (Kitty) Phillips; brother, Robert; and husband, Kenneth Underwood. She is survived by her children, Bob (Kimberly) Underwood, Sue Ann (Tom) Riordan and Lu Ann (Pete) Leonard; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
