Betty Rose Shaffer passed away April 30, 2016 at “In Angel Arms” in Buckeye, AZ. She was born May 20, 1927 in Virginia, Illinois to Willa Mae and Claude Noe. Betty attended school in Virginia and was later employed in Springfield, Illinois where she met Joe Shaffer and his 6 year old son, Joe Lee Shaffer. The younger Joe takes great pride in the fact that he helped his dad chose his new Mother. Joe and Betty were married on June 6, 1946 and their daughter Janet was born March 6, 1948. Betty and Joe came to Arizona as “snow birds” in 1969 and continued to extend their winter stay until they became full time residents. They lived at Roadrunner RV Park until health issues mandated assisted living. Betty is survived is survived by: her husband Joe, son Joe (Susan) and daughter Janet. She also has 3 grandchildren, Stacey Leigh, Dave Shaffer and Bill (Laura) Shaffer and 4 great-grandchildren.
