He was married to his high-school sweetheart, the late Janet Mae Graham on July 21, 1962 in Homewood, IL. Preceded in death by his parents, the late Blair Sr. and Mary Jane (nee Hall) and by his late sister, Susan Lundgren.
Blair was born in Galesburg, IL on June 8, 1940, graduated Bloom High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Iowa.
He was survived by his three children, Blair C. Peterson III (Rachel), Bruce G. Peterson (Vicki) and Jeanne L. Spahle (Chris). His grandchildren Blair C. Peterson IV, Jacob R. Peterson (Tosha), Cherisse N. Peterson, Krista R. Peterson, Zachary Peterson and Chelsie J. Peterson. His nieces: Donna Peterson, Laura Stanfa, Jane Mitchell and Suzanne Rominger and his nephews: Alan Jr., Eric and Marc Lundrgren plus, David, William Jr., Jonathan Mitchell and Paul, Steve and Andrew Graham. He is also survived by his cousin John Peterson who was like a brother to him, his wife Sherry, son John and daughter Kelly Victor whose love and support has been a great blessing to our family. Plus, his numerous cousins, great nieces and great nephews. Not to forget his loved in-laws: Dixie Graham and the late William Sr., Sandy and the late Galen Graham, and Alan Lundrgen, Sr.
Blair had a varied career in multiple industries … the railroad, roofing company proprietor and ended his career with Beach Products of AZ.
He had a passion for his family and loved raising his 3 children with his loving wife. Blair and Janet started their lives together in Chicago Heights, Illinois where all their children were born. They later moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to escape the cold.
He coached his kids’ baseball and softball teams and never missed a swim meet or any of the many sports that his children played. When his children and grandchildren were very young, he delighted them all with his amazing ability to wiggle both of his ears on demand along with his incredible Donald Duck impersonations. He loved to fish in Northern Minnesota and Canada every year with family and friends. Blair opened his home to so many young members of his family and friends throughout the years…too numerous to count. Ever present and ever loved.
