Bruce Robert Graham

Bruce Robert Graham, 68, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, October 24, 2015, at the Phoenix Mountain Nursing Center where he was a resident for the past two years. He was a homegrown Arizonan having lived primarily in the East Valley for his entire life.

He was born in Mesa, Arizona on May 5, 1947 to Dr. Duncan G. Graham and Mrs. Rosemary Olbert Graham and is survived by three sisters (Janet Bliss of Redmond, Washington and her husband Vernon; Roseanne Harney of Glendale, Arizona and her husband Greg; and Maryanne Keever of Scottsdale, Arizona and her husband John), two brothers (Craig Graham of Sun Lakes, Arizona and his wife Barbara and Duncan Graham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and their respective families which includes 11 nieces and nephews.

Bruce was a 1966 graduate of Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona plus received an Associate’s Degree from Mesa Community College. Despite contracting polio at three months of age, which limited his use of his legs, Bruce lived an active lifestyle that included bowling plus participating on Westwood High’s swim team that ultimately led to him competing in national events for the handicap as well.

He was truly loved by all, not only by his immediate family, but whomever he came in contact with whether it was at work or in recent years at the assisted living homes where he lived. He loved playing cards and checkers and rarely allowed anyone to beat him! Our brother and friend will be sorely missed.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Green Acres Mortuary located at 401 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers at his service, it is requested that contributions or donations be made to H.E.A.R.T, the charitable organization of the Phoenix Mountain Nursing Center that assists the less fortunate with medical and other living expenses.
