

He was born January 19, 1929 in Newfolden, Minnesota. Burt graduated from Bemidji State University in 1950 with a Bachelor's Degree and received his Master's in 1956 from the University of Minnesota. During his first job as a high school math teacher, Burt first met and then later married Dorothy Lucille Webb on June 8, 1957.
After teaching for 8 years, Burt became involved with computers and worked as a programmer and analyst before relocating with his young family from Minnesota to Arizona in 1966. There he would go on to work as a computer specialist at Motorola for over 23 years before he retired in 1989. Burt enjoyed being with his family spending time in Flagstaff, Arizona and Coronado Island, California and watching his grandsons grow up.
He is survived by his spouse of over 62 years: Dorothy Fisher; daughters: Ann Marie Rusher and Susan "Susie" Kay Johnson; grandchildren: Connor Johnson, Derek and Trevor Rusher; sisters, Iola Rokke and Esther Braafladt; and sister-in-law, Opal Fisher.
A small private family memorial service and celebration of life for Burt will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.
