I'm saddened to learn I've lost another friend. Carl was unique; truly an original and one of a kind. 
I worked for Rundle's Speed in Tempe in the 70's and first became acquainted with Carl there. I could write stories about some amazing times with Carl and Joe; who had been friends since childhood.
 I left Phoenix in the early 90's to pursue a career in commercial aviation and lost touch with Carl around that time. I worked for Boeing and live in Vancouver WA now. I've had some amazing experiences in the last twenty years, but none that I wouldn't exchange for more of those in the 70's with Carl and Joe 
Well, thank you Carl  for your enlightenment and magic times with you and Joe. May God bless you and watch over your family. May your memory continue to bring a smile to those of us you left behind.

What a wonderful man!  I grew up with fun days spent with Carl and my father, Joe Rundle.  He loved us children as though we were his own.  He always made time for us and I loved him dearly.  I wish that I had taken the time to tell him over these past years.  I pray that he will hear these words in heaven where he is resting.  Thanks for my great childhood memories spent with you.  May your family find peace.

I only knew Carl for a short time . Wish I would have met him years ago. Loved working with him and Carol on the Edmunds midget. What a heart of gold he would give you his shirt of his back. I will sure miss the twinkle in his eyes.  RIP my friend.

To the Kraft Family with deepest Sympathies .The Williams Family sends condolences for this sudden loss of Carl.Carl was a longtime friend of my Dad"Tempe Jim" & they did different endeavors together  throughout there life's.As Carl Sponsored most of the Midget Race Cars my Dad owned & built.I know now they r up there at a track as racing buddies again....RIP Carl & God Bless!

It's hard to believe the "Little Round Mound of Sound" has moved on in his journey. 
He will be missed but I know he leaves many good memories. Some of my memories of Carl are the times camping at Pumpkin Center in Four Peaks mountains (in the snow no less!) , the many hunting expeditions for dove and quail (He made sure I knew how to handle a gun safely), and of the time when Mark shot and killed the bobcat that was stalking my mother from a tree, as she walked along a river.  There were many adventures involving sprint and midget races at Manzanita. Most important is Carl was always good to my brother, Mark, and for that I will always be thankful.  My prayers are with Carol, Mark and Rocky that they hold on to their wonderful memories and trust that the good Lord will ease their grief as they move through this sad time.

carl was one of the first people I met when I moved to Arizona in 1960 we were fellow drag racers.

Amazing how someone can touch so many lives as I knew Carl through my father's skydiving business.  He would always say "I use to change her diapers." He raced cars against my husband's father at Manzy many years ago and mostly he became a father figure to a dear beloved friend of mine, Mark.  He lived life to the fullest and will not be forgotten.  Thank you for the memories Carl, we will miss you.

Hey everybody, he loved the bike runs to the lake and back, and this past week he felt that it was time to run up to see his mom and dad "Big Mike.  He always loved to feel the wind in his face, either falling from an airplane or running hard on a big motor.  His life was fast, so fast, he managed to put 80 years into 72, He was put on this earth to share his love of life and to have a good time with everybody including the many dogs and kids that were special to him.  There is big loss in our lives but he will forever be with us in our hearts.  Thats where his memory will be forever.  Please feel free to share the many advetures you may have had with him.  Carol Peterson, Mark Bianchi, Rocky Burgess and his extended family would love to see them in the guest book.  Godspeed Carl.
