Carmen Martinez

Carmen Martinez was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 18, 1929. She entered Heaven’s gate on February 24, 2018. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Genaro Martinez on June 3, 1951. He preceded her in death and they were married for 46 blissful years. A loving and devoted mother, Carmen was an excellent cook and known for her delicious “green corn tamales.” She also spent hours tending to her beautiful garden, loved thrift stores, her dogs and going to the casino. Carmen was a dedicated and hard worker who was employed with the State of Arizona Motor Vehicle Division for 17 years. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia; son-in-law Hector Garcia; sons, David, Robert and Steve; Sister, Mary Perez and Brother's, Freddy and Lawrence Artgeaga. Carmen’s Celebration of Life will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 N Hayden Rd Scottsdale, Arizona 85257 on Sunday, March 4, 2018. A Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. A Rosary will be held at 1:00 pm. In Lieu of flowers, family request donations are made to Hospice of the Valley, Ryan House 110 W. Merell Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85013.
