Carrol Dale Baty
April 26, 1917 – January 14, 2017
Carrol Dale Baty, 99, went home to be with Our Lord on January 14, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. Carrol was born April 26, 1917 in Newton, Iowa. Carrol was the oldest son of Lola and Roy Baty of Newton, Iowa. He has 10 sisters, Rosemond, Lorraine, Mariam, Elda, Doris, Winona, Pauline, Faith, Dena, Junella and one brother, John. He attended Buddington Memorial Bible School in Chicago, Illinois until age 22. He worked as a busboy at Marshall Fields until he joined the U.S. Army at age 23. He enlisted on December 13, 1940 and served until October 15, 1945. He held the rank of First Sergeant Military Police of the 9th Service command out of Fort Douglas, Utah. He met and married Virgie E. Ulmer on December 20, 1945. The couple moved to Los Angeles, California where he was honorably discharged from the Army. He worked in the stockroom and finally became manager of the Rexall Drug store in the East Los Angeles. The couple eventually divorced and he met and married Marie Tietsort on May 21, 1971. Carrol and Marie moved to Phoenix, Arizona. After Marie passed away, he met and married Florinda A. Lazo on August 25, 2003. They eventually divorced and Carrol continued to live in Phoenix, Arizona where he worked as a handy man to the other residents in the retirement facility he resided in until his death. Carrol is survived by three sisters, Doris, Winona, and Junella; one brother, John; and five children, Roy, Scott, Donald, Carrolyn, and Cloren. Carrol has grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Green Acres Mortuary on January 23, 2017 at Green Acres Mortuary beginning at 1 pm.

To the Baty Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
