OBITUARY

Charles Eldon Archer

May 18, 1926August 24, 2020

This hardworking Midwestern boy from Kansas had a great life. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, published author and friend to all. First in his family to go to college, he trained to be a naval aviator at the end of World War II. Due to the end of the war the program was halted but he went on to finish being a Kansas Jayhawk. He was in radio and then ultimately ended up in the insurance business. My dad got all his CLU classifications which is like getting a PhD in the insurance world. He was an incredibly hard worker. My dad was an outdoorsman, adventurer, world traveler, retired US Naval reservist and American patriot with a vibrant love of life. Over the last few years he wrote 5 books and published them all with the most important being "Escaping Iraq." This is the incredible story of Evelyn, his devoted caregiver for the last 9 years. It is her story of growing up in Iraq as a young Christian Iraqi and her desire to find personal and religious freedom away from the horrors of living through three wars. These were the 8 year Iran/Iraq, first Gulf (living in Baghdad during shock and awe) and the second Gulf War. Evelyn ultimately, after a harrowing journey, found peace in her beloved new home, America.
