

Clyde S. Wilcox, 94, of Scottsdale, passed away on July 27, 2012. He was the eleventh of eleven children born to the marriage of W.S. Wilcox and Mary Mondana Carico. His career covered a span of 45 years, spent entirely as an employee of the world’s largest motor passenger carrier, The Greyhound Lines, except for two and a half years (1943-2946) in the army of the United States. Military assignments covered duty in Camp Shelby MS, Camp Shanks NY, Fort Shafter Oahu, Okinawa, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan. His community services included over 40 years in Toastmasters International. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Association of Individual Investors. He was also an active member of North Phoenix Baptist Church, Arizona Classic Jazz Society, Greyhound Management Retirees Club and Arizona Ragtime/Jazztyme society. Clyde is survived by his wife Grace, 1 step daughter and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Clyde’s name may be given to North Phoenix Baptist Church or Hospice of Arizona.
