Curtis Dale Orr

Curtis D. Orr, age 57, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 28, 2021. Curt is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Deb, his two awesome children, Austin and Alia and his three furry companions, Nash, Finn and Murphy. He is also survived by his mother Elaine, sister Leslie and family, brother Derek and family, and many other extended family members.

Curt was born in Invermere, British Columbia Canada to Elaine and Ronald Orr (deceased). Invermere is a village in the Columbia River Valley bordered by both the Rocky and Purcell Mountain ranges. His life was rich in outdoor adventures…hiking, boating, water skiing, swimming, downhill skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling to name a few. He worked in the family autobody business where he learned many invaluable life skills. He was also adept at plumbing, electrical and carpentry.

Upon graduation from high school, Curt left Invermere to attend DeVry University in Calgary. Yearning for warmer temperatures, he headed south and finished his last year of college at DeVry in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated with honors with a BS in Computer Information Systems. Curt moved up the professional ladder quickly and held a variety of jobs over his career from computer analyst to programmer to many manager and director positions. No matter the task at hand, Curt was a caring and dedicated employee and very well respected along his journey. Due to health issues, he was forced to take an early medical retirement.

Curt lived life authentically and to the fullest and gave it his all whether he was taking care of his family, helping a friend, tackling a home project, tending to his flowers, managing a team, or trying to solve his own health issues. He was a “fixer” and was always there to lend a hand with solution-oriented wisdom, creativity, and sage advice. Curt was kind and compassionate and will be forever missed by his family and friends. He shone his light brightly and walked steadily in it, and it is there where we shall meet again.

A celebration of life for Curtis will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 N Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona, followed by a reception. For those unable to attend Curtis' Celebration service in person, all are welcome to join via the livestream link posted below.
