Just heard about Mr. Bonow's passing. He gave me my first job in the Roosevelt School District. He was a great principal, a gentleman and a scholar. The teachers and students all liked him. Absent in the body, present with the Lord. May God comfort his family and friends, and bless his memory!

We just heard today that Dan died.  We are so sorry we did not know.  The many times we had together as colleagues in the Roosevelt District and then in retirement met with you guys and Dorothy every year!  He was a great educator who loved his kids and teachers and showed it every day!  Our love and comfort to all of you!

Dear Helen,

We just heard of today that our friend and colleague Dan died.  We wish we had known!  Our times together with stories going every which way and meeting with Dorothy every year since our  retirements were good times!  He was an outstanding educator loved by his students and teachers.  He was a teachers teacher and never forgot the classroom!  I was honored to have worked with him for ten years and always admired his passion for making sure his kids got the very best!

I have so many fond memories of Helen at the Drug Store and Mr. Bonow at Valley View.  Then the marriage of two beautiful people.  My prayers are with you Helen and your family. May your memories and the love and support of friends bring you comfort at this time.

I met Dan in 1966 when I was a first year teacher at Roosevelt School.  Although Dan was assigned to Valley View he made it a point to introduce himself and offer teaching materials and suggestions.  I observed him in the classroom and was impressed by his rapport with the students. I later changed job roles in the school district but continued to have frequent contact with Dan in his role as a principal.  In 1981 I mentioned that I was starting a cabin building project near Prescott.  Dan immediately volunteered his services.  I look fondly at a few photos of him on the job site.  I am saddened to learn of Dan's passing but was honored to know him.  My condolences to Helen and the family.

When I think of my grade school years,  I immediately think of Mr. Bonow.  He was my 7th and 8th grade teacher.  I remember being so excited that I got him for a teacher in 8th grade.  I always felt insecure when I went to school. Some how  Mr. Bonow made a difference.  I wasn't afraid to go to school.  He made me feel safe.  I went to Valley View grade school at 7th Ave and South Mountain Avenue.  I graduated in 1963.  I am now nearly 66 years old.  I still remember him clearly as being my most favorite teacher.  Thank you .  Your family will be in my prayers and thoughts.  May Heavenly Father bless and comfort you.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Bono.  He was my Jr. Teacher at Lassen Jr. He was a favorite teacher of all. My condolences to you Helen, and all your family.

Dan and I were best of friends for over 60 years.  
He was loyal and always ready to help you when you needed it.
Like others, I enjoyed his stories over and over and over.
He was my "brother".  I MISS HIM !!!

I would give anything to hear Dan's voice and the stories he would tell while reflecting on anything and everything at Starbuck's. He was a true patriot, completely committed to public education, and a true friend. He will not be forgotten. My condolences to his family.
