David Eugene Young Jr.

David E Young Jr. age 59 of Cary NC, loving husband of Barbara Boone Young, passed away on January 5, 2025. He was born in Queens, NY on September 13, 1965 to David E Young Sr. and Jane F Young. He was the oldest of five children.

David and his family moved to Brookfield CT in 1976 and he lived in the Danbury area for many years. David worked for Ralph Steinberg Leather in the 1990’s and that job took him traveling all over the country, as well as to Germany and China.

David decided to make a career change and went back to school at 34 years old. He graduated in 2003 with honors from Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He and Barbara then moved to Durham, NC where he began a long career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse.

David was a good man who deeply loved his wife and his family. He had a big heart and a unique sense of humor. He loved music, movies, and always had some random trivia to share. He had a wonderful marriage and a successful career. Anyone who knew David was confident that he cared for and supported them.

In addition to his wife of 35 years, David is survived by his mother Jane Young, sister Jennifer (David) Ryan of CT, sister Jessica Young of CO, brother Brian (Betty) Young of VA, and sister in law Jill (Owen) Young of CT; his nieces Kayla, Kelly, Addison and Amelia and his nephews Riley and Grady Owen as well as his and Barbara’s close friend Brenda Sites.

He was predeceased by his grandmother Margaret Finneran, father David E Young Sr., brother Owen Young and mother-in-law Charlene Fisher.
