Dieter was born to Dietrich and Elizabeth Haase in Posen, Germany on July 24, 1943. His family received a sponsorship to the United States in 1955 providing them with many opportunities apart from war torn Germany. He became a proud naturalized citizen on December 5, 1961.
He honorably served in the US Army until his discharge in 1966.
Dieter was employed by Lipe-Rollway Corporation of Liverpool, NY and Nixon Gear in Syracuse, NY until relocating to Phoenix, AZ in 1975. He was employed by AiResearch/Garrett (now Honeywell) as a manufacturing engineer for 23 years at which time he took his skills and expertise to Allied Tool and Die, Phoenix, AZ until retiring as General Manager.
He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 51 years, Susan; his sister, Sabine Oliver (Ray), his daughters Kimberley Carroll and Shelley Carroll of Deland, Florida; Lisa Collins (Chris) of Syracuse, NY; his sons, Dieter Haase, Jr. (Kelli) of Syracuse, NY; and, Shane Haase (Sarah) of Los Angeles, CA. He is loved and cherished by his five grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends and acquaintances. There was no place Dieter could go where someone didn’t know him.
Those who really knew him were blessed to experience his generosity and tender heart. Known as “The Grillmeister” for his masterful grilling skills, he loved social gatherings, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed a friendly football bet. He leaves us with many fond memories to treasure.
