An immigrant from Vietnam who arrived in Arizona in 1975 (at the end of the Vietnam War) with her husband and three daughters. Together, they established their family’s new roots in Arizona, and this was home up until her passing. Dinh worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her family. Not speaking a word of English, she and her husband worked 2 jobs each and still found time to take conversational English classes at a local community college to learn the language. Despite her busy schedule, Dinh always made time for everyone, she always provided support not only to family but to her friends as well as her community. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer her help. She regularly cooked meals for friends and neighbors. Assisted those in her community find jobs, drove them to and from appointments if they didn’t have transportation. With her husband and lifelong partner, the two made it their passion to help other immigrants assimilate to their new US home and assisted them in pursuing their American dream. Friends, family, and the community will remember Dinh for her selfless nature and willingness to help everyone and anyone.
Dinh’s mom passed when she was only three years old, leaving Dinh to be raised by her aunts and uncles. Dinh grew to be a very independent young women which was uncommon for women back in the early eras and especially for women back in Vietnam. She instilled both strength and independence in each of her girls. Dinh’s greatest love by far was her family. And her children and grandkids were proud to call her mom/grandma. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, loving nature, joy for life, adventurous ways, love for Buddhism and her incredible sense of fashion.
Dinh was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Hoan Nguyen, and her forever 9-year-old grandson, Brandon Luong, her two younger brothers, Nghi Nguyen, and Hung Nguyen. Dinh is survived by her three daughters, Ha, Hong, and Hanh Nguyen, her three sons-in-law, Ty Lien, Esmund Choo and Sean Luong, her six grandkids, Elliot, Corbin, Logan, Macy, Mason, and Ethan.
They invite you to join them to celebrate her life at Green Acres Mortuary on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 9AM. She will be cremated, and her ashes placed in a memorial bench overseeing her loving husband, Hoan Nguyen’s grave. Also, alongside, her forever 9-year-old grandson, Brandon Luong, who was laid to rest on this very same day, 5 years prior.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenacresmortuary.net for the Nguyen family.
