Donald Lloyd Anglin, a long-time Tempe dairy farmer, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at the age of 89. Don was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada on May 18, 1922. He married Ruthanna Clark on October 16, 1943, in Baltersea, Ontario, Canada, while on leave from the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. In 1951, Don and Ruth sold the family farm and took a trip to Arizona at the suggestion of a family doctor. Don and son Arnold had sinus troubles and asthma and Arizona’s dry climate seemed to be the fit. So in 1952, they headed to Arizona with their 3 boys, where daughter Yvonne was born in 1958. In 1953, Don located and purchased 5 acres on Warner and 56th (Priest) Street and that is where the family settled. With 22 cows and much hard work, the Anglin Dairy farm had its start. Don remained on the home place after the dairy was sold in 1977, until he went to be with Jesus on Sunday. Donald was a man of deep faith and with a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He tried to live his life with Christ as his example and it is an example that he set and lived out among his children and grandchildren. He was a long time member of the Nazarene Church. Don and his wife were always giving of themselves to others. They were always there to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends in need. He was a man that had a spirit of generosity, especially to those in need. He was not only a man of great faith but a man that believed in hard work to get ahead; a value that he instilled in his children. Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruthanna and grandson Hudson Anglin. He is survived by 3 sisters: Phyllis Clarke, Kingston, Ontario, Doreen Garrison, Gananoque, Ontario and Joan Gosvenor, Gresham, Oregon. He is also survived by four children: Richard (Deanna) Anglin, Roy (Gloria) Anglin, Arnold (Patricia) Anglin, and Yvonne (Jim) Weir; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Focus on the Family, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80995, either online or by mail. Donald’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 2950 W. Ray Road, Chandler, 85224.
