Doris Elaine Sorenson

Sorensen, Doris E. went to her Heavenly Home on April 3, 2012. A service to celebrate her life is scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 10AM at Hi-Way Baptist Church, 10505 E Brown Rd · Mesa · (480) 986-5021. Burial to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. The soloist is Roy Hope. Officiants are Rev. Ken Travilla and Rev. George Barnes. Doris Elaine was born in Sisseton, SD on February 21, 1920 to Andrew (A.M.) and Florence (Peterson) Anderson. She attended the Roberts County Public Schools in SD. She graduated from the Black Hills University in Spearfish, SD with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in rural SD., Peever and Watertown, SD and Edina, MN for a period of 38 years. She retired in 1980. Doris was united in marriage to Roger S. Sorensen on March 27, 1965. In 1968, Roger and Doris moved to Apache Jct. to make their home. Doris is survived by a nephew, Ronald Anderson and wife Joyce of Quincy, IL and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Anderson and a brother, Rev. Harvey C. Anderson Doris enjoyed teaching and playing the piano. She loved the Lord with her whole heart.
