It has been a year and it seemed like only yesterday, when I said goodbye to my very best friend. That beautiful smile always brings joy to my heart. Dottie I love and miss you.

I want to say that the service was beautiful and the family put a lot of thought behind it. She lived as she died, unwavering, without fear or regret. She told me that all she ever wanted to do was see her children and grandchildren grow and flourish. That was accomplished and with pride. Each and every one of you should be proud, that you had such a mother and friend. I know that even though she was not my biological mother, she was mother to me just the same. She loved me and I dearly loved her. She treated all people with respect and would take a stranger and give them the benefit of doubt, that they were worth her trust. she was a lovely woman who loved everyone. She protected and guided me like her own child, and I in return respected her like my mother. Her laughter and her smile was the soup for the soul, for no matter what the problem, she had a smile and an answer. Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to be involved with such a lovely family. There has never been another Dottie in my life, but if one should come into yours, please open up your heart and take all the lover and joy they want to give.
