Ed honorably served in the United States Navy, having served multiple tours of duty on the U.S.S. Midway during the Vietnam War; a period that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline, service, and commitment to excellence. Following his military service, he built a successful career in the electronics industry at General Dynamics, Motorola, and Intel, where his technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities set him apart.
A gifted innovator, Ed was a patented inventor whose work reflected both ingenuity and persistence. His passion for technology eventually led him to own and operate his own business, Arizona TPI, where he was respected for his leadership, integrity, and dedication to quality.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ed had a lifelong love for Corvettes. He took great pride in owning, restoring, and admiring these classic cars. He found joy in both their craftsmanship and performance. Ed also spent years drag racing, building cars, and showing cars in various car shows. Ed’s garage was a place of creativity, patience, and pride; much like the way he approached life.
Ed will be remembered for his intelligence, work ethic, patriotism, and the quiet pride he took in building, fixing, and improving everything he touched. He leaves behind his daughter, Nikki Hettick (Aaron); grandson, Austin Davidson (Mikaela); great-grandsons, Levi and Wesley Davidson, sister, Donna Owen Valenzuela (Gonzalo); brother, Gary Newton (Tracy); niece, Amy Milliron (Matthew), and nephew, Matthew Owen. Ed had an incredible network of family and friends who cherish his memory and the legacy he leaves behind.
