Elaine Marion Ashby, 94, of Scottsdale, passed away on June 28, 2017. Elaine was born October 16, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois. She completed business coursework in San Francisco and worked most of her adult life as a medical transcriber in various hospitals in California and Arizona. Elaine married Vern Ashby November 1, 1946. She was a great card player and loved playing bridge. Her greatest achievements were being a wonderful mother to her three sons and meeting every challenge that came her way with strength and determination. Elaine is survived by sons Ron (Patty) and Mike and her beloved grandchildren Myles (Brooklyn) and Alex (Phoenix). She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern (2001), and her youngest son, Timothy (2007). A visitation will be held at Green Acres Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on July 3, 2017. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of the Valley would be welcome.
