Elizabeth Ann Sechrist
Elizabeth Ann Sechrist (Hill) known affectionately to all as Betty, passed away on April 25, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, creativity, and adventure. Born on New Year’s Day in 1937, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Betty brought a spark of light into the world from the very start. At age 11, her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she grew up and graduated from North High School.
Betty’s professional life was defined by her dedication and talent. She began her career with Ma Bell and later transitioned to AT&T, where her excellence as a Sales Representative was so well-regarded that she was chosen for a prestigious year-long project in San Francisco.
Beyond her professional success, Betty’s true passion lay in the art she created with her hands. An accomplished seamstress, crocheter, and needle pointer, her beautiful handiwork lives on in countless homes across the country – a testament to her generous spirit and the love she stitched into every gift. She lived her life with a heart for adventure and a deep love for travel.
Betty is now reunited with her parents, her four brothers (3 sisters-in law), her two sisters, and her son, Richard Grant Sechrist III.
Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Susan Warren and Sharon McVey (Mike); her granddaughters Jeramy Sechrist (whom she raised as her own daughter) and Courtney Gage; greatgrandchildren Coleson Hammond and Corrie Hammond.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Betty’s beautiful journey on May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary.
