She was one of those rare people who were an actual Arizona native. Born in Jerome, AZ in 1936 when it was a booming mining town. Her father Maynard Franklin worked for the mine as a welder and boilermaker. Evalyn was named after her mother Amanda Eva, thus the unusual spelling of Evalyn.
She had one older brother Franklin whom she loved and lost before he turned twenty-one.
In 1955 she married her one and only love Jesse Coye (JC) Martin in Wickenburg, AZ … who passed away much too soon.
Evalyn worked a multitude of full time jobs over the years and all the while still being an incredible loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She raised three children; two sons and one daughter.
Family was the priority for holidays, long weekends, and summer vacations. She enjoyed going to MT where she could check in on her two grandchildren to see just how much they had grown since she saw them last.
Evalyn will always be remembered for being a warm, generous, kind, and joyful person. Her dynamic personality and beautiful smile could light up any room. She loved family get-togethers and celebrated all holidays with a festive joy.
She loved to cook, do puzzles, read, travel and have a good laugh over coffee or tea with friends.
Evalyn had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Brown Road Baptist Church. Over the years, she had become very involved with the church and made numerous lifelong friends.
Evalyn’s presence will be dearly missed by her three children and their spouses; Coye Blaine wife Heather, Daniel (Danny) Ray wife Vanessa, Trina Dee husband Dennis along with her two grandchildren (Tiffany Anderson and Justin Martin) and her many friends.
A mother’s love is a mystery and holds extraordinary beauty in the form of her strong but tender heart.
Her love for her family, friends and God will carry on forever.
Family, friends and anyone whose lives Evalyn touched are invited to join together to honor what an amazing woman Evalyn truly was.

We miss you Mom
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new,
We thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.
All we have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
We have you in our hearts.
