Gary Lewis Duncan

Gary Lewis Duncan, age 81, passed away on June 2, 2022 in Tempe, AZ. He was born in Phoenix, AZ in July of 1940, and grew up in Peoria, AZ, graduating from Peoria High School in 1958. He spent his childhood enjoying all that small town life had to offer and spending summers camping and fishing at Oak Creek.

After working for a crop dusting service for several years, he joined the Phoenix Air National Guard in 1961. During his 34 year career with the Guard as a loadmaster and boom operator, he took many trips overseas, including to Germany, his favorite place due to the good food and beer. He also made many lifelong friends.

As a lifetime member of the NRA, he enjoyed hunting and target shooting, and especially enjoyed sharing those pursuits with his children and grandchildren. In his later years, his favorite thing to do was sit on the porch at the family cabin near Flagstaff, watching and feeding the birds and squirrels.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy; children Doug, Joy and Susan; grandchildren Derek and Charmayne; great-grandchildren Alice, Marilyn and Braxton.
