Georgia “Jeannie” Lee Rousseau passed away June 26, 2022 surrounded by her close and loving family. Georgia was born October 21, 1943 in Elbow Woods, North Dakota to her parents Levina (Waters) and George Lewis. As a child, Georgia attended Marty Mission School, where she later went on to graduate from Aberdeen Central High in 1961. Two years later, Georgia met the love of her life, Cyril, and married on November 7, 1963 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Jeannie then began her career in 1965 working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs until she retired in 2002 while working for Indian Health Services. Georgia lived a life filled with endless love and could almost always be found playing bingo or watching the cooking channel. She was easy to love and will be immensely missed. Georgia is survived by her 4 children: Yvette Chambers, Stephanie Rousseau-D’Avignon, Monique Rousseau, and Judd F. Rousseau; 11 grandchildren: LeiLani, Dustin, Lindsey, Derek, Thomas, John, Madison, James, Julian, Isaias, and Anahi; and 5 great-grandchildren Lincoln, Bliss, Aaron, Delta, and Hattie
A visitation for Georgia will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery.
