Don Hartwig passed away on February 12, 2012. He was born on July 5th, 1938, a few blocks from the Alamo, “deep in the heart of Texas”. Don proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completion of his service, he went to work for the Motorola Government Electronics Division, retiring as a Program Manager after 32 years. During the 70’s Don was a Reserve Officer with the Phoenix Police Department, and was named “Outstanding Reserve Officer of 1973”. Don was active in Motorola Recreation and IRC sports, playing golf, softball, and basketball. He was a New York Yankee and Dallas Cowboy fan until the last! He is survived by his sister Gaye Autterson, Palm Desert, Ca., daughter Melanie Higgs, and two grandchildren, Matt and Sara, Gilbert, AZ.
