

H. Wayne Johnson Jr., 80, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born in Memphis, TN to Harold Wayne and Betty E. Johnson. After moving to Grand Junction, CO, he attended Grand Junction High and Mesa College (2 yrs), where he wrestled and played football.
He later transferred to Arizona State University where he met the love of his life, Pam Koerber/Johnson, his wife of almost 56 years. His education was interrupted when he joined the Navy. While he was stationed in Hawaii serving his country on a nuclear submarine named the USS Grant, he and Pam got married. After the Navy, he returned to AZ and finished his education. Shortly thereafter, his daughter, Julie was born.
He worked in the insurance field until being accepted into Law School at Arizona State University in the 80's. He received his Juris Doctor of Law from ASU Law School and worked as an Attorney until he retired. He loved spending time with his family and traveling to Las Vegas and Colorado.
He is survived by his wife: Pam Johnson; daughter: Julie Rodi; son-in-law: James Rodi; three grandchildren: Matthew Rodi, Daniel Rodi, and Kaylee Rodi; brother: Tony Johnson; and sister-in-law: Charon Johnson.
Wayne was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Wayne was a remarkably caring, gracious, and non-judgmental man, whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy of love and compassion. He will forever be in all of our hearts.
