Hector G. Vernetti, 91, of Scottsdale, AZ. Passed away peacefully on January 9, 2014. Hector was born on May 13, 1922 in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico. He was raised in Globe, AZ and a World War II Navy Veteran. After the war, he moved to valley in 1948. Hector worked for the Arizona Highway Department and retired after 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his summer home in Flagstaff, Az. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Ann Vernetti (Kleiv) then Emma Vernetti (Osman). He is survived by his Son Gilbert Vernetti of PHX, Daughter Carol Ann Smith of Long Beach, CA, Stepson Lou Osman of Des Peres, Mo, Step Daughters Caroline Lo Strocco of PHX, Pauline Anderson (Melvin) of Casa Grande, AZ. 17 Grand Children, and 16 great Grand Children. Viewing will be held at Green Acres Mortuary in Scottsdale Sunday from 2-5pm. Memorial services and burial will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery Monday at 12:00 noon.
