

Hope W. Sacharoff, 88, of Scottsdale, AZ and Tenafly, NJ passed away on July 1, 2021. Beloved wife of Howard Sacharoff, z”l, for 66 years and dear mother of Alex (Sheryl) of Oviedo, FL and Daniel (Robbin) of Suffern, NY. Hope was truly beloved as Grandmother of Justin, Cory, Cali, Dani, and Sami, z”l. Preceded in death by parents Abraham and Charlotte Zwicker and her sister, Elaine Zwicker, of New York.
A member of Screen Actors Guild, Hope was an actress who played Yente in a production of Fiddler on the Roof, won a Cleo award for a Kodak commercial, and had roles in several movies including Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway. Author of two poetry books under the pen name Hope Waldron Samuels, she enjoyed writing and kept many journals. When Hope and Howard retired to Scottsdale, they were fortunate to meet and become good friends with Elisabeth Kubler Ross. Hope helped to transcribe Kubler Ross’ book The Wheel of Life. Hope was also a beautiful crafter who enjoyed sewing and embroidering.
As a member of Temple Sinai of Bergen County for many years, Hope enjoyed singing in the choir. As a young mom, Hope was also a crossing guard at the local school.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday. July 13th at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, Scottsdale, AZ. Donations in Hope’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association
