On Thursday, April 4, 2019 James Ewing Rentschler II passed away at age 54. Our loving son, brother, uncle and friend was born on September 3, 1964 in Terre Haute, Indiana. After attending Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Jimmy headed to Scottsdale, Arizona to be near his sister, Kelly. After spending a few years working retail, Jimmy started a successful cleaning service.
Jimmy’s outgoing personality endeared him to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that filled any room with joy. Jimmy was an avid sports fan and supporter of PGA Golf, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also loved Indy Car racing and spent many Sundays watching races with his brother and nephew.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James E. Rentschler. He is survived by his mother, Patricia (Smith) Rentschler; sister, Kelly Rentschler Degroot; brother, Kirk Flatter (wife, Kathy); nephew, Kirk Flatter II (wife, Erin); and niece, Katie Flatter in addition to several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date in Terre Haute Indiana. Donations may be given to the South Vigo H.S. (Terre Haute, IN) Golf program.
