Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Janet was raised in Overland, Missouri, and attended Central Methodist College.
Janet was the devoted wife of the late William Lee Gooding and the loving mother of five children: Bill Gooding, Steven Gooding (deceased), Terri (Ken) Rimer, Jay Gooding, and Scott Gooding. She was also a cherished grandmother to Brooke (Aaron) Cowell, Brittany (Seth) Jaskowiak, Kate Gooding, and Will Gooding, and a proud great-grandmother to Declan Cowell, Vivian Cowell, and Griffin Jaskowiak.
After settling in Southfield, Michigan, to raise her family, Janet dedicated herself to the Myasthenia Gravis Association, serving as both President and Vice President. Her commitment to volunteer work extended to the Kiwanis Club, St. David's Episcopal Church, and Providence Hospital.
Janet lived life to the fullest, traveling the world, golfing, and pursuing her passion for archaeology. She was a 50-year member of Plum Hollow Country Club and enjoyed spending winters in Naples, Florida and was a long-time member of Foxfire Country Club.
Memorial donations may be made to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America Memorial Garden Giving Fund in memory of Janet.
A celebration of Janet's life will take place in May in Scottsdale, Arizona. Additional information will be available soon.
