Ela "Janina" Hummel passed on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at the age of 87. Born in Germany, she met and married her beloved husband Walter Hummel. Walt's career in the foreign service enabled her family to travel and live all over the world. She and Walt ended up in Scottsdale Az where they lived for over 25 years. She is survived by her children Jeanette and Jason. Janina loved her family first and foremost. She also loved life and knew better than anyone else how to enjoy it. Always smiling and laughing, even during hard times, she was her family's rock. Strong and always there to offer support and words of wisdom. She was a master at bridge and an expert at crossword puzzles. She even played bridge with Omar Shariff and other international celebrities. Janina was an incredible woman in every sense of the word. She made a huge positive impact on all of our lives. I know that all that crossed her path learned a little something from her. The Lord has taken her home.... Rest in peace Mom / Janina.
