Joan Margaret Tully Smith, 80, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed peacefully on January 10, 2015 from Cancer. Joan was the eldest daughter of Wilbur Campbell Tully and Elizabeth Ruth Greig, and lived all over the country while she was growing up. She graduated high school in 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Joan finally settled in Iowa where she worked at the local newspaper as a typist. She received her nursing degree in 1974 and worked as a psychiatric nurse in Iowa for 10 years, then in Arizona for another 22 years. Joan was very active, keeping busy with bowling, golfing, and poker with the girls. She was an avid reader of books, a dog lover, and an enthusiast of Jigsaw puzzles, bingo and the slots. She loved to travel and visited England, Greece, and Canada, vacationed in Mazatlan every May, and traveled frequently to Las Vegas. She is survived by her four children, two grandchildren, and three great-grandsons. Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:30pm, Saturday, January 17, 2014, at Green Acres Family Room, 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257.
