SCOTTSDALE - Jolene Marie Hofmann, 83, passed away on April 6, 2019. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 11, 1936. She met Herb, her husband of over 50 years, at the University of Wisconsin. They spent their first year of married life in Germany, then returned to Wisconsin but eventually moved to Arizona in 1959 with their children Herb and Helene (Patty). They made their home in Scottsdale in 1965 and lived in the same house for the remainder of their lives. For over 30 years, Jolene worked for Motorola at the 52nd Street Plant in various positions, including foreman. Jolene and Herb were avid outdoorsmen—boating, camping and traveling via RV throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. One of her favorite pastimes later in life was painting. She was also an active member of the Prima Donna Red Hats.
Jolene is survived by her only son, Herb, and daughter-in-law, Gina, as well as cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Jolene’s life will be Saturday, April 27, at 10:30 am at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale.
