Justin Douglas Cole

Justin Cole, age 40, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2023. He was born in San Diego California, and graduated from San Diego Mesa College with a multimedia degree. He loved animals, especially cats, and volunteered at a cat rescue in his youth. He played wheelchair hockey in school, was a Philadelphia Flyers fan, and enjoyed going to Padres games.

He moved to Scottsdale in 2011 where he led meet-up groups, served as a tech support educator at a Senior Center, was a team captain on numerous MDA fundraisers, and made many dear friends. Justin was a doting uncle to his nephew Wyatt, as well as his nieces Lexi, Bella, Isla, Lily and Sage when he spent time with them. He was politically active, was a disability advocate and served as an active member on the Mercy Care Advisory Council. He had a wicked sense of humor, was passionate about hockey, video games, movies (especially Avatar and Star Wars), and enjoyed hanging out with fun-loving friends, both in person and virtually.

Justin will be greatly missed by his family, which includes: father and step-mom (Doug & Lisa Cole), mother (Candy Greene), sisters Krystina Cole, Elizabeth (Cruz) Lopez, Ida Severson, and brother Bryan (Karyn) MacFarlane, Grandfather Gene Cole, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins and Fred, the fish.

A celebration of life for Justin will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, followed by a catered reception from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
