Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on February 6, 1928 to a Finnish immigrant mother and a Swedish immigrant father, Ken was raised in the Finnish enclave of West Quincy, Massachusetts – a place he would forever consider home.
Kenn graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country, serving in the U.S. Army as a Weapons Specialist during the Korean War.
Ken married Shirley Faust, beginning a partnership that would span more than seven decades. They moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where they built the home he loved so much.
Ken had a remarkable career as an Electrical Engineer with GE, Honeywell and Motorola, wearing many hats across commercial, military, and space programs.
Coming from humble beginnings, Ken knew the value of hard work, perseverance and opportunity. He was deeply proud of the life he built for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shirley; his four children; and their families.
