Kevin Eugene Mulmed, 72, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on July 1, 2026. He was born on May 1, 1954, in Phoenix, Arizona to parents Natalie and Samuel Mulmed. Kevin lived in Arizona his entire life and earned his D.D.S., dedicating his professional years to caring for others with skill and steady kindness.
Kevin earned his D.D.S. and dedicated his professional years to caring for others. He was a dentist who never wore a white coat. Instead, patients were greeted by the familiar comfort of flannel shirts, an easy manner, and a practice that felt less like an office and more like a living room. Patients always felt comfortable, welcome and at home in his care. In that setting, Kevin’s natural warmth put people at ease, and his gentle humor often did as much good as any treatment. His family shared that he would wear glasses with googly eyes to make patients laugh.
He was devoted to his beloved wife, Terry, and he loved all of his children. Kevin’s love was constant and unmistakable, which was shown in the way he gathered people in, made room for them, and treated each relationship as something to be tended with care. He never knew a stranger and made friends wherever he went.
Kevin loved animals, the outdoors, and hiking, with especially fond memories of time spent in Yellowstone. He even accomplished riding his bicycle across the United States. Music was another lifelong joy, and he most enjoyed playing the drums; his talent carried forward through generations of his children and grandchildren. At home, he enjoyed watching The Three Stooges with his kids, sharing simple moments that became lasting memories.
In later years, Kevin took up cooking delicious meals, and there was a familiar ritual to it: he would always wait for his wife to take the first bite, watching for her reaction to be sure he had done it just right. It was a small, tender habit that reflected the care he brought to everyday life.
Kevin was a very talented and intelligent man. His family called him the “Magic Man,” a name that fit the way he could lighten a room, connect with anyone, and leave people feeling better for having known him.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Theresa Mulmed; his children, Christopher (Jenny), Maxwell (Kori), and Danielle (Ryan); his grandchildren, Kylee, Breanne, Bryson (Kahtryna), Austin, and Logan; his great granddaughter, Seraphina; his future great granddaughter, Rosaline; his cousin, Robin; and his friend, Joe O'Donnell. He will be greatly missed.
A Graveside Service will be held at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, on July 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. A reception will follow at the same location.
