

LaMar Clarence Peterson, 95, passed peacefully in Tempe, Arizona on November 26, 2013. He was born on October 21, 1918 in Gunnison, UT, to loving parents Clarence and Pearl Peterson. He was preceded by his wife Maralene Henry Peterson of Idaho. He was survived by his brothers Gene and Donna Peterson, Utah and Glenn and Cornelle Peterson, Utah. He was survived by his children Ann Chase of Arizona, Dale and Kathy Peterson, Virginia and James and Candy Peterson of Brisbane, Australia. Additionally he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His family legacy is represented from Korea, China, Russia, Japan, Romania, and Australia. He entered the United States Air Force in 1939 as a navigator and retired in 1964 as a Colonel. He traveled around the world during the war and served 20 years with his family in Hawaii, Bermuda, Iceland, England, and many bases in the United States. During his wartime service he was awarded the Silver star, the Bronze Star, oak clusters among many others. LaMar was a dedicated husband father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of the Latter Day Saints. Funeral service was Friday, Nov 29, 2013, in Mesa, AZ. Graveside service was at 1:00pm Monday, Dec 2, 2013, at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024. He was honored with full military honor guard services as he honorably served his country thought-out his life.
