She was born February 9, 1932, the youngest of 9 children, to William and Mary Hankins, in Alvin, Illinois. It was here in Illinois where she met her husband, Norman “Mike” Majercin. In the 1960’s they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where they resided and raised their 4 children. She was totally dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives. Her greatest passion in life was being with her family. She loved spending time with family during the holidays, cooking her famous chicken and noodles or meatloaf, solving crossword puzzles, and playing her favorite game, bingo. Leah was a unique and caring person who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Leah was known as “Grandma” to her 15 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Her devotion to her grandchildren was evident in the love she gave them. Her kind nature and loving spirit has passed down to her next generation of grandkids and great grandkids.
Leah is predeceased by her husband Mike Majercin. She is survived by her 4 children, Belinda Johnson, Brad Majercin, William and Donna Majercin, Barry and Alicia Majercin, 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
An intimate graveside memorial will take place at Green Acres Cemetery on Sunday, October 14 at 11:00 am. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Brookdale Chandler Rehabilitation Center for their incredible dedication and care given to Leah Majercin.
