Lois Elizabeth Hillman Uebele Phillips, age 95, of Scottsdale, Arizona peacefully transitioned to heaven February 18, 2022. She was born in Hartford, Wisconsin on April 14, 1926. She attended Northwestern University in Illinois for 2 years. She married Howard William Phillips of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 6, 1950 in Hartford, Wisconsin. Howard, an architect, passed away in 1987.
She worked at M&I bank in the credit department. She was a wife and mother and enjoyed cooking, baking sewing hers and Deborah’s cloths. When daughter Deborah started high school she started working as a church secretary for the local United Methodist Church. Later she worked as Howard’s secretary for his business as an Architectual Construction Consultant. She was a member at Scottsdale United Methodist Church, formally Los Arcos United Methodist Church.
Lois loved to read, especially the Bible. She loved to draw and was an avid colorist. She filled a sketch book with her drawings. She also collected photos and articles to add to her “picture” book. It is filled with fun articles, poems and things she wrote. She spent many happy hours not only going through her book but was adding things to it right up until she went to be with the Lord. When she was younger she loved to do handwork such as embroidery. She worked on putting together an article telling about her Dad that she sent to all the family for Christmas. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and often took us off guard with her wit.
Lois was predeceased by her Husband Howard, Sister Fern Pearl Uebele and Brother Wayne Franklin Uebele. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jean Phillips Blacklock of Scottsdale, Arizona, Nieces: Tamantha Jane Uebele of Watertown, Wisconsin, Kieron Leigh Schauble Bodanyi of Attica, Michigan, Patrie Ann Schauble Rolling of Hamilton, Ohio and Nephews: William Bryant Schauble of Hamilton, Ohio, Robert Noel Schauble of Big Rapids, Michigan and John Patrick Schauble of Cincinnati, Ohio.
