

Lori Sue Dovgan, 51-years-old, passed peacefully on May 7, 2014, after a brief and courageous struggle with cancer. Lori was born May 15, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Dr. Stanley Levine and Sylvia Udkowsky Levine, who passed away in 1973. Her stepmother, Phyllis Diane Levitt Levine of Scottsdale, AZ was a part of her family for over thirty years until her death in 2009.
Lori possessed a contagious smile and a fun sense of humor. She enjoyed life. Her strong will to live, throughout her struggle with cancer, was centered around her two beloved children and collecting the precious memories she held close to her heart. Lori loved to travel, enjoyed fine dining and simple gatherings with friends. She had a passion for dogs and all things horses. She graduated from Michigan State University School of Nursing in East Lansing, Michigan and later practiced as a Registered Nurse at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Lori is survived by her two sons, Brandon and Brock of Scottsdale, AZ; her father, Dr. Stanley Levine of Scottsdale, AZ; brothers, Dr. Gary Levine and wife Debi of Greenville, North Carolina, Dr. Dennis Levine of Cadillac, Michigan; Stepsisters Wendy Drucker of Scottsdale, AZ and Dr. Julie Donnelly and husband Hank of Falls Church, Virginia. Lori leaves behind 8 nieces and 3 nephews, 7 cousins, and very close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
